Welcome to our church family and church community. Here you'll find information about the Charge, our churches (Ashton and Munster), and the life and work of the congregations. We hope this serves your needs.
Ashton-Munster Pastoral Charge
The congregations of Ashton and Munster United Churches together form the Ashton-Munster Pastoral Charge.
We follow the United Church of Canada definition for a Pastoral Charge. Our Official Board consists of members of Session, Stewards, United Church Women, Choirs, and Sunday School teachers, all from both Ashton United Church and Munster United Church. Regular meetings are open to these and to other interested members not part of one of these groups. It is at these meetings that dates for the annual picnic, times for the Christmas eve services, and dates for annual congregational meetings are set. Joys and concerns relating to our members are shared at the meetings as well.
Rev. Matthew Gallinger. Matthew officiates at our Sunday services. Service times alternate between 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.in Ashton and Munster United Churches. Check the worship services schedule for the time for your preferred church (menu above: Schedule - Worship services).
We extend a very warm welcome to you as well any time you visit and worship with us. If you are new to the area and are interested in a church for regular worship, please join us. Don't be shy - come out for several weeks and enjoy several services. We think you'll decide to worship with us on a regular basis.
Ashton United Church
Our congregation has a long history starting with the first meetings of worship in pioneers's homes. We have retained and cherish our country origins and offer a warm welcome to everyone. Whether you are a visitor or someone looking for a regular place of worship, we invite you to join us. We are proud of our church family and our building. Our Sunday School is well staffed and arranges many different activities of interest to all. It is our hope that what we offer meets your needs.

Munster United Church
As with Ashton United Church, we have country church origins. You'll find a warm welcome here too. The start of our congregation was in 1823. We have been worshipping regularly in the present building since it was built in 1895-96 and dedicated and opened. Our members practice a solid following of Christ's ways through caring for and helping others.
Our choir presents an anthem each week as part of the worship service and our Sunday School has a dynamic leader and staff who provides interesting and varied programs for the children. We also offer nursery facilities. We look forward to having you join us, and if you are looking to settle into a church we hope you will find what you are looking for with us.

Prospect United Church
Until recently, Prospect United Church was a functioning part of the Ashton-Munster Pastoral Charge. In recent years there have not been enough members to sustain operation of the congregation by itself. We (the members of Ashton, Munster, and Prospect) still hold at least one service of worship in the church annually. You will find a brief history and photos of our church in this site.
